Generative Art by WIM
Works Currently in Progress
I became fascinated with algorithmic art in Summer 2021 with the discovery of ArtBlocks. Soon after, I began tinkering with code myself. And over the past 2-3 years, this has become an area of increased focus in my life.
The collections below are currently works in progress. Although I have never released any of these collections to date, I anticipate that these works will be available sometime during 2026-2027.
If you have any questions or are interested in any of these works, please feel free to reach out.
Marfa Sun
This algorithm explores a relatively simple composition. There are patterns of lines layered throughout the canvas and a circle centered in the middle. The subtle imperfections of jagged lines and discolourations intentionally aim to resemble works produced by human hands.
I worked on this algorithm during the summer of 2025 and intended on bringing physical prints to Marfa, Texas. I came to the realization that the middle circle reminded me of the sun. Hence, the concept of Marfa Sun was born.
An important element of this work is translating the digital outputs as physical prints. I've become infatuated with the process of using laser-cutting technology to produce woodblock prints. Once this collection is officially released, there will be a woodblock print option available for collectors.
An early prototype of Marfa Sun prints were displayed in 2025 at The Golden Tumbleweed Gallery in Marfa, Texas. I have included some test outputs of this algorithm below.

Origin of Species
This project explores the randomness of bezier curves within a canvas of concentric squares. I've constructed this algorithm to resemble a physical canvas with imperfections of colour and worn edges.
This was one of my earliest algorithms that I worked on in depth, which spanned much of 2025 and now into 2026. When generating outputs, I began to notice that some of the outputs appeared to be figurative, despite these bezier curves being quite simple. Reflecting on my early journey as a generative artist and with inspiration from my formal education with evolutionary biology, I decided to title these works "Origin of Species" in reference to Darwin's book that introduced the scientific theory that populations evolve over the course of generations through a process of natural selection.
Once this collection is officially released, there will be a print option available for collectors.
